Several aesthetics influence my work.
I like to explore my environment. The camera enables me to convey to others something of both the form and the feeling of what I find. Often my exploration is of people and places. Immediate moment magic is hard to transcend by any amount of manipulation, but life has more dimensions than are often revealed in moments of daily life. Moments that express imagination and multidimensional experience are also hard to find. The computer enables me to express ideas and feelings that go beyond the here and now.
One goal of this work is to make images that will continue to remind viewers of aspects of life beyond the objectively observable. Another goal is to provide a visual experience that is not immediately grasped in all of its nuances, but continues, on repeated viewing, to add a sense of something, like life, that is both meaningful and enigmatic.
